Frank Zamboni created the world’s first ice resurfacing machinein the 1940’s and today Zamboni is the official ice resurfacingmachine of the NHL as well as a magic saga.

For some reason the Zamboni often are more interesting to youngkids than the actual NHL they are watching.

Many are the parents who have bought expensive tickets to lettheir kids experience a NHL game just to find out that the kidsfind it more interesting to watch the Zamboni out on the iceduring the intermissions.

This must be very frustrating for a hockey loving dad who wantsto get a cup of coffee between periods to stand and watch theZamboni instead.

I actually remember one of the very first ice hockey games mydad brought me too. He met some old friends he hadn’t seen inquite a while and they agreed to have a chat during the firstintermission.

My dad never got to talk ice hockey with his old friends thatnight because I didn’t leave my seat during the first break. Ijust sat there and watched the Zamboni refresh the ice as if themachine was the greatest hero in the world.

When the second break came I agreed to leave real short for somepopcorn and dad was all happy to see his pals. His excitementsoon disappeared when we couldn’t find them and we returned toour seats for the third period.

Now I am a hockey loving dad myself and maybe one day I willhave the same trouble with my kid as dad had with me.

Ice Hockey Fights Will Always Bring Fans To The Nhl Games

However, if you look at it from a hockey fan’s point of view itis ice hockey fights that make hockey and the NHL what it is.Our sport is different than any other sport and that is also thereason why we are such huge hockey fans.

Fights bring excitement to the National Hockey League and theymake it a game made for tough athletes at the same time. Manythink that the fights are just to bring a bigger crowd thearena, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Fights are and will always be a big part of the National HockeyLeague.

A guess is that athletes of many other sports would never haveput up with the level of physical contact you face in ice hockey.

The tough guys in hockey are scared of nobody and they show upevery night to protect their teammates. Many of these hockeyplayers might not be the most skilled ones, but it is a toughjob they are doing.

Many non-hockey fans say that the NHL is brutal and somehow Ican understand those people too.

But, brutal or not, I will always love ice hockey fights and theNHL. They are just as an important part of ice hockey as hotdogsare in baseball.
